Institutional Review Board

  • An Institutional Review Board (IRB) is a federally mandated organization of scientific and non-scientific persons, whose charge is to review research studies involving human subjects to ensure subject safety and welfare.
  • While responsibility for the conduct of a research study ultimately lies with the Principal Investigator, an IRB is to ensure that any research study under its jurisdiction is in compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations.
  • For IRB related questions please contact Ryan Bringhurst at 617.636.3874 or ryan.bringhurst@tufts.edu.

Financial Conflict of Interest (FCOI) Training

  • FCOI Training is required for Investigators before engaging in federally-funded research, every four years thereafter, and immediately under designated circumstances.
  • There is a training site set up for investigators at the Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) where investigators can take the PHS approved mini-course.
  • Please click here for the FCOI Training Instructions.
  • Please send completed COI training certificates to Helen Arroyo at helen.arroyo@tufts.edu.
