Regularly Scheduled Series (RSS)

TUSM OCE adheres to all ACCME requirements for RSSs and other educational programs, including the Standards for Commercial Support. The Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) defines a Regularly Scheduled Series (RSS) as an activity that is 1) is planned as a series with multiple sessions that occur on an ongoing basis (offered weekly, monthly, or quarterly); and 2) is primarily planned by and presented to the accredited organization's professional staff. Examples of RSSs include recurring educational activities such as Grand Rounds, Morbidity and Mortality conferences, Journal Club, Ethics Rounds, etc. These educational sessions must also take place within the institution. Physicians who attend RSSs can earn AMA PRA Category 1 Credit TM. TUSM OCE conducts annual orientation sessions to educate RSS organizers regarding the required procedures and forms.

Please note: Annual events hosted by hospital departments are NOT considered RSSs, and require submission of a separate educational planning form, adherence to additional accreditation requirements, and have corresponding fees for certification. See the Educational Activities page.
