Obtaining a Tufts Account

A Tufts account is required for to access the following resources:

  • Hirsh Health Sciences Library and other Tufts libraries, online texts, journals
  • Tufts University Sciences Knowledgebase (TUSK), our online curricular database
  • A tufts.edu email address that forwards to a preferred email address

Once an appointment is processed by the Office of Faculty Affairs, a confirmation letter and instructions on how to establish a Tufts account (including a Personal Registration Code) will be sent by mail.

Please choose from the following statuses for additional information on establishing your account:

If you are awaiting appointment confirmation
Please contact the Office of Faculty Affairs at med-ofa@tufts.edu or 617.636.6631 to confirm your appointment status.

If you received your appointment confirmation from OFA and need to activate your account
Go to https://tuftstools.tufts.edu/cgi-bin/mscf. Click on the “Activate Your Account Now” link below the login box in the middle of the screen. This will take you to a page that allows you to set up your Tufts Username and password. Follow the instructions and enter the personal registration code that was mailed to you from Faculty Affairs in order to activate your account. During the account activation process, you will be prompted to verify your name and provide an email address external to Tufts University. Your new tufts.edu email account will be set to automatically forward emails to the address you specify. Once you have established a Tufts Username, you will be required to reset your password every 180 days. A notification and link to the appropriate website will automatically be sent to you via email.
