Services for International Health Care Institutions

The Office of International Affairs works with international organizations and health care institutions, upon request, to arrange a number of clinical care and administrative services that are provided by Tufts University School of Medicine, its affiliated and training hospitals, and partner organizations, on a consulting basis. These include:

  • Clinical patient care consultations and second opinions – In the United States at our facilities, via audio or video teleconferencing or, if necessary, abroad.
  • Quality and Patient Safety – Our physicians will review patient records to assess the quality of care provided to them in local hospitals.
  • Direct clinical care – Our physicians will travel to international health care facilities to treat difficult patient cases.
  • Continuing Medical Education (CME) – Tufts-affiliated medical educators will travel abroad to give lectures or participate in conferences to advance knowledge and discuss the latest developments in their specialty fields. Teleconference participation also is an option.
  • Evaluations – Tufts-affiliated experts are available, on a consulting basis, to evaluate and make recommendations to improve clinical care programs and administrative infrastructure and procedures at international health care organizations.
  • Video consultations – The Office of International Affairs can arrange video consultation with Tufts-affiliated experts on a range of patient, clinical care and safety, and administrative issues for international health care institutions.
