My research focuses on the application of decision analytic techniques to the analysis of medical interventions and environmental risk management problems, with a special emphasis on the proper characterization and analysis of uncertainty. My work covers a range of issues, including cell phone use while driving, alternative fuels for transit buses and school buses, tradeoffs between the nutritional benefits of fish and resulting exposure to mercury, and risks associated with bovine spongiform encephalopathy in the US.
