Biography

​Global public health and food, nutrition and development research focused on:
-Assessment of food practices and dietary consumption of national food supplies for identification of appropriate interventions, including nutrient fortification, nutrient supplementation and other nutrition and food-based strategies
-Assessment of socio-cultural and environmental determinants of food patterns, nutrient intake and health status of population groups -Relationships between diet, nutrient intake and chronic conditions of diverse, aging population groups
-Socio economics and cultural determinants of food and nutrition security, health and development in Central America
-Global health interventions for maternal and child health and nutrition
