Research/Areas of Interest: Development and application of state-of-the-art methods for assessing air pollutant exposures; determining the impact of air pollutants on infectious and non-infectious cardiovascular, respiratory, reproductive, and adverse birth outcomes among children and adults, with a focus on vulnerable and minoritized populations. Additional interests include the application of data science principles in environmental epidemiology and implementation science for environmental epidemiology.

Biography

Dr Kirwa is an environmental epidemiologist who applies techniques from environmental health, epidemiology, and statistical modeling to better understand how environmental factors affect human health, and how those effects can be mitigated.
