Board certified Geriatric Physical Therapist serving as core faculty and Assistant Director of Student Affairs in Tufts Doctor of Physical Therapy Program - Boston.
Elizabeth (Betsy) Wonsetler-Jones, PT, DPT, Ph.D.,�currently serves as core faculty and the Assistant Director of Student Affairs in the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program at Boston within Tufts University School of Medicine. Dr. Wonsetler-Jones is a Board-Certified Geriatric Specialist by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties. Clinically, she has experience in the acute, skilled nursing, and outpatient neurological settings. She currently practices in the acute care setting. Within the hospital setting, she promotes interdisciplinary and interprofessional internal education focusing on patient-centered care and safety. Dr. Wonsetler-Jones' research has used Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation to investigate how the nervous system controls movement in healthy individuals and those post neurologic injury. In addition, she has focused on understanding biomechanics regarding mechanisms that affect the recovery of gait post-stroke. Her scholarship goals moving forward include improving physical therapy interventions and patient outcomes for patients in the acute care setting. Dr. Wonsetler-Jones currently serves as a committee member on the APTA Acute Care core outcome measure knowledge translation taskforce and as a CEU reviewer for the APTA Tennessee.
