Welcome to the Department of Rehabilitation Sciences (DRS), the home of 3 dynamic Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) programs in Boston, Phoenix, and Seattle and a 4th program under development in Atlanta. Our national presence allows us to educate and serve students conveniently, establish meaningful clinical relationships, attract stellar faculty, and conduct nationwide research all with the deliberate intent to have a true impact in communities throughout the United States. Our department is dedicated to advancing the field of physical therapy through rigorous research and transformative education. Our distinguished faculty members are leaders in their respective fields, dedicated to molding the next generation of physical therapy professionals through a curriculum steeped in evidence-based practice.

We educate and inspire a highly diverse group of physical therapists, clinician scientists, and change agents nationwide. Our community of students, alumni, faculty, and partners works daily to improve society’s health, advance equitable access to healthcare, and serve all people including the most vulnerable among us.

Our Mission

We prepare students to earn the Doctor of Physical Therapy degree in a dynamic, collaborative, and hybrid-accelerated learning environment. Over a seven-semester experience, and as part of one of the leading academic medical centers in the nation, we equip our graduates with the knowledge, strategies, tools, and networks they need to flourish in this fast-growing profession. Together, working in an environment marked by integrity, authenticity, and a true sense of belonging, we exert meaningful impact on the social determinants of health, health equity, stewardship of social resources, and the future of our profession.
