Research/Areas of Interest:
The major research interest areas of the Massari lab include bacterial pathogenesis and host responses. Specifically, we examine how bacteria and their components induce, modify, and evade host cell responses leading to immunity and inflammation. A deeper understanding of these mechanisms helps us to design strategies to prevent bacterial infections through the development of vaccines against human and veterinary pathogens
