Biography
Dr. Potter is a Professor and the Director of Curriculum & Assessment. She has been a physical therapist for over 35 years and holds expertise is in adult neurologic rehabilitation. Prior to joining the Tufts faculty, she taught at the University of New England, Northwestern University, and Rockhurst University. At Rockhurst, she also served Director of the Center for Excellence in Teaching & Learning where she held workshops to promote quality teaching, mentored new faculty, and consulted with faculty on matters relating to teaching and scholarship. Dr. Potter's research focuses on outcome measurement in neurologic physical therapist practice. She has conducted studies on the psychometric properties of various measures and was an author of the Clinical Practice Guideline (CPG): A Core Set of Outcome Measures Adults with Neurologic Conditions Undergoing Rehabilitation, for which she was awarded the Rockhurst University Brenner Award of Scholarly Achievement. Dr. Potter and colleagues will begin a revision of the CPG in fall 2024. Dr. Potter is an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association, including as a faculty member for the Academy of Education annual New Faculty Development Workshops (virtual and in-person) and Co-Chair of the MS EDGE Task Force for the Academy of Neurologic Physical Therapy.
