Pediatric faculty members have also been exceptionally successful in obtaining “Innovations in Education” awards. Five faculty members collectively have received ten separate awards from TUSM, indicating that the pediatric curriculum is an extremely important component of the clinical years.

Research:

The Department of Pediatrics has 12 faculty members with significant peer-reviewed NIH or equivalent research funding. Our major basic, clinical, and translational research programs are in the divisions of Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics, Genetics, Hematology/Oncology, Infectious Disease, and Newborn Medicine. The Department also has a strong portfolio in clinical research and clinical trials. This year, two of the three Career Development Awards (KM1) from the Tufts’ CTSI Program in Comparative Effectiveness Research went to Pediatric junior faculty members.
