PreMed IGNITE

Program Overview

Pre-Med Ignite is an experiential learning and coaching program for rising second-year undergraduate students who are interested in a career in medicine or related health care field. Through this short, immersive experience, students will engage in experiential learning activities on the Tufts University School of Medicine (TUSM) campus, talk with current TUSM students and professionals, and create a personalized career development plan. This inaugural program year will be themed around cardio-pulmonary medicine, with learning activities including clinical case simulations in the state-of-the-art Thompson Simulation Center, anatomy dissection, and more. Students will gain insight into different health care career pathways (MD or PA for example) to help determine what is the best fit for them. After the immersion component of the course, students will receive coaching from experienced TUSM faculty members; they will meet with their coach 4-6 times over the course of the following year to flesh out their career development plan and make concrete goals for the near future. If you are looking for a program to help explore careers in medicine and think through your next steps, this program is for you!
