Volunteer

Thank you for your interest in volunteering at Sharewood! The Sharewood Project relies on undergraduate, medical student and physician volunteers to continue functioning. At this time, we can only accept Tufts-affiliated volunteers.

Sharewood is currently reconstructing our projects and mission under changing circumstances with some of our community partnerships. We are working to modify our website page to better reflect these changes.

  • If you are currently a Tufts University School of Medicine Student and you would like to volunteer at Sharewood, we are always looking for additional volunteers. If you have any questions about volunteering at Sharewood, email the volunteer coordinators for more information.

  • If you are a physician and would like to volunteer, please email our Clinical Services Director for more information.

  • If you have any questions about volunteering at Sharewood, email our volunteer coordinators for more information.

  • If you are a current undergraduate student and would like to volunteer, please contact our undergraduate volunteer coordinators.

    What do we do?

Project SHARE is a Tufts University, student-run club that focuses on reducing disparities among Tufts and local communities by advancing access to health care, and providing resources and education in support of the universal right to health. We started as the undergraduate branch of Sharewood and continue to further the mission of Sharewood by organizing health equity projects through our various branches. Currently, Project SHARE works with Sharewood to train undergraduates to be MassHealth certified, assisting uninsured populations with registering for MassHealth.

    Who can volunteer?

Project SHARE members will volunteer with medical students at Sharewood when opportunities become available.

    Other ways to get involved

Beyond volunteering at the project, there are three undergraduate committees with which students can become involved.

    • Resource Development Committee
We fundraise for health initiatives and manage a mutual aid fund to address financial barriers to health care access on and off-campus
    • Health Outreach Committee
We work on projects each semester that improve health literacy, promote public health, and support clinical services to underserved individuals
    • Civic Advocacy Committee
We work on projects with municipal and community leaders to address identified health needs in the community for long-term, sustained impact
