Things to Do Prior to Orientation
Research Housing Options
The OSA is happy to help with general questions regarding where students live, how to find roommates, etc., as you look for housing. The best way to start is to visit our Housing Resources page. If you have questions about housing, please email med-housing@tufts.edu or call 617-636-0893. Those of you who are new to Boston may want make note of some of the information provided to new students by the City of Boston and review our Student Services Campus Life page.
Health/Wellness
When you transition to the Boston area, you will need a local Primary Care Physician (PCP) for regular preventative services and sick visits throughout your time at Tufts. Tufts does not have an on-campus student health center so your primary health services will be provided via your local network of health providers. If you currently see additional health professionals who are located out of state (medical specialists, psychiatrists, psychologists, etc.) you should begin choosing similar providers here in Boston, as well. Tufts does provide on-campus counseling and wellness advising services to Boston Campus students. These services are not intended to replace ongoing therapy or psychiatric services but is an additional resource to address short-term mental health counseling needs. Information about health and wellness resources is available from Student Wellness Advising. We also have an on-campus office dedicated to health insurance and immunization records, please visit the the Student Advisory Health Administration Office (SAHA) for more information.
