Overview

TuftsCARES (Tufts Community Assistance and Responsibility Experiences for Service) is a volunteer initiative that engages MBS students in public service.

Students have the opportunity to give back to the community in a variety of ways through the TuftsCARES network of clinical and community experiences. These experiences are important for students’ overall education and for preparation for medical school training.

Participation in TuftsCARES:

  • Raises social awareness and responsibility

  • Stimulates community investment and civic engagement

  • Encourages public service

  • Develops community ambassadors

How to participate

Participation in the volunteer experiences provided by TuftsCARES may occur at any time during the MBS program and is coordinated around students’ schedules. However, participation during the first year of study may be limited considering the rigorous first-year academic course load.

Once enrolled, students will be given access to a list of volunteer sites along with their specific opportunities, requirements, and instructions on how to sign up.
