Seminars Subcommittee
Sharing Experiences
Our subcommittee invites speakers to share the story behind their CV at the beginning of their seminars, inspired by the “Growing Up in Science” seminar series, where speakers are invited to (but not required!) to reflect on their life/career journey in a way that emphasizes struggles, doubts, failures, detours, issues encountered (e.g. sense of belonging), lessons learned, etc.
The goal of this reflection is to provide our trainees with a more complete picture of the often non-linear journey of discovery, both personal and professional, that a scientific career frequently entails.
