At Career Services, we are your tour guides to the working world. We develop with you and support your non-academic strategy and tactics to achieve your post-graduation career goals. Every person has their own reasons for wanting to earn a master’s degree, so every person will have a unique experience with Career Services.

In all our services, whether it's mock interviews, resume reviews, or insights into different employers and industries, we help you learn the language of business so your resumes pop to get the interview, and your interviews excel to land the job or academic program of your choice. While faculty are teaching you the skills to do the job you desire, we are teaching you the hiring process, how to speak of the skills and knowledge you have gained, who the various players in hiring are, and how to best maneuver the hiring landscape to get the job you desire. We’re by your side, helping you move your career forward.

Helping students advance their careers is a Tufts hallmark and an integral part of the student experience. From the moment you step on campus, you’ll have access to the full resources of our Career Services office, and you’ll work with a staff that provides guidance throughout your program. And as Tufts alumni, you’ll have access to these services until you retire.

Employer Relationships

We enjoy longstanding relationships with organizations and companies on the lookout for bright, talented professionals. This diverse employer network—which includes organizations like the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, Abt Associates, Children's Hospital, and RTI International—means more options for our graduates to find the next job in their rewarding careers.

Our Services

We support students and alumni in their goal for meaningful careers through education, coaching, and building career connections.

  • Career Services meets individually with current students and alumni, covering topics such as self-assessment, career exploration, and negotiating salaries.

  • The required Career Planning Course (CPC) for MPH students is designed to ensure that you gain the skills and confidence to promote yourself effectively in your job search and throughout your career.

  • Each student will have access to Handshake, a leading online student/employer community. You will be able to create a profile, engage with over 400,000 employers, and apply to internships and jobs, including clinical research opportunities with Boston’s world class hospitals and other health research institutions. Truly, Handshake is one-stop resource that allows students to manage their career search process.

    Current students can log in to explore jobs, internships, fellowships, and experiential learning (field placement) opportunities on our online career community. Alumni should contact Career Services to gain access.

    Employers – Handshake has profiles for the more than 400,000 employers who use the application. Included in the profiles are the ability to follow an employer, read interview and job reviews from students, and message other students who have worked or interned at an employer to get the inside story.

    Applied Learning Experience, Internship and Job Postings – Students have access to search jobs by several different criteria including industry, location and job function. Handshake also recommends job openings based on your interests, education, and experience. Handshake’s Discover Careers function lets you explore and discover a broader range of jobs that need your Public Health education.

    Events and Appointments – Students can search for all upcoming Career Services events including career education programs and employer information sessions; register for events; and schedule one-on-one consultative appointments with Career Services staff.

    Easy Job Application – Applying for a job in the system is simple since students can apply with resumes and cover letters saved within Handshake or attach resumes and cover letters saved elsewhere.

    Resource Library – Handshake contains a library housing proprietary Public Health Career-related information.

    Mobile – Handshake’s mobile application enables you to manage your career on-the-go
