Incoming Student Information
Congratulations and welcome to Tufts!
Tufts University School of Medicine is a prestigious, highly selective medical school. The students we admit demonstrate high academic achievement, curiosity, drive, and a commitment to becoming skilled, compassionate clinicians. As a new student to one of our programs, there are specific steps you need to take to fully matriculate and get ready to begin the program.
Registration and Orientation
Every incoming student will have an Orientation designed specifically to help them become familiar with their new program. Orientation also provides the opportunity to meet classmates and the rest of the Tufts School of Medicine community.
The Tufts University School of Medicine Class of 2028 will matriculate on the following dates:
- Student enrolled in the MD/PhD Program: June 16, 2024
- Student enrolled in the Maine Track Program: July 15, 2024
- Student enrolled in the MD/MPH Program: July 23, 2024
- Student enrolled in the MD Program: July 23, 2024*
*ALL INCOMING MEDICAL STUDENTS (including all combined degree and Maine Track students) are required to participate in the scheduled Orientation Week activities beginning on July 23rd.
Participation in orientation is mandatory. Any applicant on the roster of incoming students who fails to participate (without prior approval for extraordinary circumstances) will be withdrawn from the entering class. Both orientation and curricular activities have been scheduled beginning on these dates. For this reason, matriculation day is considered both our first day of orientation and our first day of classes.
Information and instructions will be sent to admitted students via email.
Academic Calendars
Students will find important dates and information on their program's academic calendar here.
