Research/Areas of Interest

I am interested in developing models for the study of breast cancer in vivo and novel approaches for identification of drug targets for breast cancer metastasis to specific organs. As part of my previous research, I developed a genome-wide in vivo functional genomics screen for identifying metastasis suppressor genes for metastasis to major organs affected in breast cancer. I plan to modify the technology to identify drugable effector genes responsible for sequential steps in the metastatic process with a focus on those genes that target tumor cells to brain and facilitate growth within the brain microenvironment.
