Research/Areas of Interest
Dr. Gagnon's research focuses on innovation in physical therapist education, with particular expertise in hybrid and online learning and student success. She led one of the first research teams to publish peer-reviewed work on hybrid DPT education and has since expanded her scholarship to include generative AI in PT education, academic coaching, and the future of the profession. Her work in pediatric physical therapy spans neurological assessment of preterm infants, experiential learning, and accessible mobility for children with disabilities. Most recently, she has contributed to adapting the WHO Rehabilitation Competency Framework for entry-level physical therapist practice and to advancing an abundance-oriented vision for the profession's future.

Biography
Kendra Gagnon, PhD, PT is Program Director of the Tufts DPT - Boston program. A physical therapist and educator with more than two decades of experience, she is known nationally for her work in hybrid learning, pedagogical innovation, and academic leadership in health professions education. Her recent scholarship also explores the future of physical therapy education through the lens of abundance, optimism, and professional identity.
