Biography
Dr. Dore's research focuses on structural determinants of health across the life course. She conducts research on administrative burdens within safety net programs, including the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) program and the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC), on participation rates and health outcomes. She is also interested in the relationship between state-level measures of structural discrimination. She has published on the association between structural sexism and health behaviors and outcomes, and is currently developing a novel measure of state-level structural classism. Dr. Dore is an interdisciplinary researcher who earned her PhD in sociology from Emory University and received postdoctoral training in social epidemiology at the Social Policies for Health Equity Research (SPHERE) Center housed at Harvard School of Public Health. Prior to graduate school, Dr. Dore worked at several public health nonprofits, including Leah's Pantry and the Shanti Project.
