Designed specifically for hands-on physical therapy education, the 27,000-square-foot facility reflects how physical therapists learn best: Through movement, collaboration, and repetition. Every aspect of the space is intended to support both structured instruction and independent practice while mirroring real clinical environments.

Students learn in fully equipped lab and treatment spaces that help translate classroom concepts into confident, patient-centered care.

The space includes:

• Two large clinical lab environments – Purpose-built for clinical skills instruction, patient simulations, group learning activities, and hands-on practice with faculty and peers.
• Dedicated functional training area – A specialized space where students practice movement analysis, therapeutic exercise, rehabilitation techniques, and functional mobility interventions in a setting that reflects contemporary physical therapy practice. Students gain hands-on experience applying exercise prescription principles across the lifespan, learning how to safely progress and adapt interventions to meet the unique needs of each patient.
• Student collaboration and study spaces – Students have access to a large student lounge with an adjacent pantry, quiet study lounges, and dedicated study rooms that support both collaboration and focused independent work.
• Faculty and student support spaces – Conference rooms, faculty offices, reception areas, and student support spaces foster mentorship, community, and meaningful connections throughout the program.
• Aretech ZeroG® 3D System – A cutting-edge body-weight support system used in neurological rehabilitation, the ZeroG® 3D provides students with hands-on experience using advanced technology for gait training, balance, and functional mobility interventions. Recognized as a leading rehabilitation tool, it helps prepare students to deliver evidence-based care to patients with complex neurological needs.

Through Tufts' partnership with ATI Physical Therapy, students benefit from access to a fully operational outpatient clinic located adjacent to their learning environment. Featuring open treatment areas, private treatment rooms, and a rehabilitation gym, the space serves as a living learning lab where students can connect classroom concepts to real-world patient and clinical care.
