Biography
Dr. Papa is an Associate Professor with a demonstrated history of leadership in the higher education industry. He is currently the founding director of Tufts DPT - Seattle, WA. He also maintains an appointment as Associate Professor in the Jonathan M. Tisch College of Civic Life. Previously he was a tenured Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Physical & Occupational Therapy at Idaho State University (ISU).
Skilled in Biomechanics, Statistical Data Analysis, Research Design, Exercise Prescription, and Fall Prevention, his research focuses on biomechanical control of posture in persons with Parkinson's disease and the implementation of distance-based delivery models in physical therapist education. Dr. Papa's scholarly track record includes numerous peer-reviewed publications in both clinical studies and teaching/learning pedagogies, over 50 abstract presentations at national and international conferences, and the procurement of over $800,000 in grant funding from non-profit institutions, including $470,000 in NIH funding. His record of scholarly productivity has led to various awards, including the Clinical Researcher of the Year Award from the College of Rehabilitation and Communication Sciences at ISU.
Dr. Papa has taught courses in Clinical Kinesiology and Biomechanics, Evidence-Based Practice, Neuroanatomy, and Leadership Development. He is the recipient of various teaching awards at two separate institutions, including one national award and the Innovative Teacher of the Year from the School of Rehabilitation and Communication Sciences at ISU.
