Research/Areas of Interest

She is a Board-Certified Clinical Specialist in Oncologic Physical Therapy whose research focuses on optimizing rehabilitation outcomes through equitable care, with expertise in cancer survivorship, chronic disease, rural health, health equity, and workforce development. Her research has been funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI), and industry partners, and has resulted in more than 100 publications and presentations. She is committed to developing the next generation of physical therapists through mentorship and coaching, educational innovation, and community-engaged scholarship. As the Director of Research, she leads initiatives that strengthen research capacity, foster interdisciplinary collaboration, and advance evidence-informed rehabilitation practice.

Biography

Lisa VanHoose, PT, OnCS, PhD, MPH, FAPTA, FAAPT, is a Visiting Professor and Director of Research for the Tufts DPT Boston program. Dr. VanHoose is a Fellow of the American Physical Therapy Association and the American Academy of Physical Therapy and has held numerous national leadership roles, including serving on the APTA Board of Directors and as Past President of the Academy of Oncologic Physical Therapy.
