Biography

Professor Marcia Boumil is an Associate Dean of Conflicts of Interest Administration and Professor in Public Health and Community Medicine at Tufts University. She earned her law degrees at the University of Connecticut School of Law and Columbia University Law School. Her research interests lie in industry and medicine conflicts of interest and ethics as well as reproductive health and mental health law. She is author of the textbook, Medical Liability in a Nutshell (now in its 5th Edition), and has published numerous articles in both the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) and the New England Journal of Medicine. Professor Boumil is the recipient of numerous teaching awards in the Department of Public Health and Community Medicine as also earned the Department's Lifetime Teaching Award. She currently teaches courses in Health Law and Ethics and Negotiation.
