Biography

Professor Marcia Boumil is an Associate Dean of Conflicts of Interest Administration and Professor in Public Health and Community Medicine at Tufts University. She earned her law degrees at the University of Connecticut School of Law and Columbia University Law School. Her research interests lie in industry and medicine conflicts of interest and ethics as well as reproductive health and mental health law. She is author of 10 books including the 2024 textbook, Medical Liability in a Nutshell (now in its 5th Edition), and has published numerous articles in journals such as the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) and the New England Journal of Medicine. Professor Boumil is the recipient of numerous teaching awards in the Department of Public Health and Community Medicine, including the Department's Lifetime Teaching Award. She currently teaches courses in Public Health Law and Negotiation and Conflict Resolution.
