Research/Areas of Interest
My project employs Drosophila as a genetic model to understand how the nervous system regulates rhythmic behaviors such as sleep and circadian behavior. I am currently studying a number of genes expressed in glial cells or neurons that are important for aspects of sleep regulation. In addition, I participate in an ongoing genetic screen to identify cell types and novel factors that regulate sleep.
