In honor of his 50th reunion this year, Craig A. McPherson, M.D, FACC, M76 has established the Craig A. McPherson, M.D., M76 Scholarship to support Tufts medical students, building on his longstanding annual fund support beginning in 1985.

Inspired early by his mother, a nurse, McPherson began working in a small urban hospital as a teenager and remained there through high school and college before matriculating at Tufts in 1972, where his “dream happily materialized.” He went on to a nearly three-decade career in cardiology, including 28 years as a program director.

“Having spent my career training and teaching physicians young and old, I honor and value the importance of medical education,” McPherson said. “I am happy to provide funding for a medical student scholarship to reduce, at least a little, the financial burden that medical education has become. The teaching and the learning must continue.”
