Biography

Dr. Xinxin Sun obtained her MD degree from Shandong University School of Medicine in China and earned a PhD in Genetics from the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, Tufts University. Her doctoral studies focused on the role of gene transcription regulation in neuron development. After her graduation, she was appointed to the faulty of the Department of Medical Education and began her career as a medical educator.

Dr. Sun teaches in multiple courses for medical, dental, MBS and PA students at Tufts University, and covers topics in Anatomy, Histology, Genetics and Physiology. She is currently the course director of Medical Histology for MBS students and Endocrine and Reproduction for dental students. She also serves as a mentor for MBS and dental students. Dr. Sun's medical background helps her to effectively highlight the clinical relevance of basic medical concepts and she is currently studying teaching pedagogy aimed to improve the effectiveness of teaching and learning in classroom.
