Research/Areas of Interest:
Obesity policy is my primary research interest. I'm interested in what policies could work for obesity prevention, with a focus on policy feasibility and effectiveness. My current research areas include local health departments' obesity interventions, federal implementation of menu labeling mandate, and effects that the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program has on health outcomes. In addition to obesity, I'm interested in many health topics, including but not limited to tobacco, HIV/AIDS prevention, and the opioid crisis.I'm also interested in welfare programs, with a focus on finding out how the welfare rules in each state relate to individual health outcomes.
