Research/Areas of Interest
My research project is focused on the transgenerational inheritance of stress. Parents’ stressful experiences are transmitted to the next generations through epigenetic changes (DNA methylation, histone modifications, and miRNAs) in germ cells, making offspring susceptible to psychiatric disorders. My focus is on miRNA changes induced by social instability stress and how changes in the miRNA are involved in behavioral changes in the offspring.
