Community Health Outreach Initiatives for Cancer Education (CHOICE)
We’re excited to announce grant funding through Tufts Springboard for Community Health Outreach Initiatives for Cancer Education (CHOICE). CHOICE is led by EpiScreen Alliance (founded by two Tufts medical students, Archita Goyal, MD/MPH candidate and Hannah Edenbaum, MD Candidate) in collaboration with COHERE and Community Action Program Inter-City Inc. (CAPIC).
Lung cancer is the second most common cancer and leading cause of cancer deaths in the US, primarily affecting racial minorities. To address these barriers, CHOICE will use a digital platform that facilitates easy access to health insurance and free transportation, provides customized multi-language and culturally competent educational materials, and offers referrals to primary care offices. Community Health Workers (CHWs) will use this platform at community events for recruiting, screening, and referring at-risk individuals. The study is set to launch this Fall.
We’re excited to partner with CAPIC on this project!
