David Rosenthal, M63, and Judith Rosenthal, J60
“Tufts played such an important part in both our lives that we wanted to give back.”
Tufts is a family tradition for David, M63, J87P, AG88P, and Judith Rosenthal, J60, J87P, AG88P. Judy, who grew up just blocks from the Somerville campus, remembers seeing Jumbo in Barnum Hall. Her father was a Tufts School of Dental Medicine graduate, and selecting Tufts for her undergraduate degree was a natural choice.
David graduated from Harvard and then went to Tufts School of Medicine. Currently the director of Harvard University Health Services and a professor at Harvard Medical School, he is also a senior physician at Brigham & Women’s Hospital, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. President of the Tufts Medical Alumni Association, David chaired his 40th reunion committee and recently received the Distinguished Service Award from the Tufts University Alumni Association.
The couple’s daughter Laura continued the Tufts tradition, earning her undergraduate and graduate degrees at Tufts. David and Judy have extended the tradition by including an unrestricted gift to Tufts in their estate plans. “We want our gift to be used in whatever way is most valuable,” says David.
