My name is Harnoor Gill, DPT26, and I am a first-year Doctor of Physical Therapy student at Tufts University’s Seattle campus, Class of 2026. My academic coach is Jennifer Jordan, PT, DPT. The mentorship model at Tufts has been a beneficial aspect of the program, providing structured, consistent support through one-on-one coaching relationships that foster both academic and personal growth.

First Impressions

My first impression of Dr. Jordan was that she was incredibly energetic, positive, and approachable. I instantly felt comfortable in her presence. From our very first meeting, it was clear that she truly cared about her students and was committed to supporting us in a meaningful and encouraging way. Her warmth and enthusiasm set the tone for a trusting and supportive coaching relationship.

Growing Through the Program

Throughout the program, Dr. Jordan has been a consistent and meaningful source of support. Not only has she helped me navigate the academic demands of graduate school—offering guidance on time management, study strategies, and managing stress—but she has also been there for me during challenging personal times. When I went through difficult situations in my life, Dr. Jordan was someone I could talk to openly and honestly. Her support went beyond academics; she was compassionate, understanding, and never judgmental.

I’ve always felt that I can reach out to her, whether it's a quick question or something more serious. She’s incredibly responsive and communicative, often replying quickly to texts or messages. Knowing that I can count on her—whether I’m struggling in a course, feeling overwhelmed, or just need someone to talk to—has made a huge difference in my experience at Tufts.

Dr. Jordan creates a safe and supportive environment where I feel truly heard. She gives thoughtful advice and takes the time to understand where I’m coming from. What also stands out is her openness to growth. She genuinely listens to student feedback and perspectives to continuously improve her coaching and teaching. Her ability to be both a mentor and a learner makes her a great coach, and I am truly grateful to have her in my corner.

Closing Thoughts

Thank you, Dr. Jordan, for always being there for me since day one of the first semester. Your support has meant so much—not just to me, but to all the students in our coaching group and throughout the program. I truly appreciate the way you consistently check in, even during busy times, because it shows how much you genuinely care. It’s comforting to know that there’s someone in the program looking out for us on both an academic and personal level.

One of the things that makes this program so special is having dedicated one-on-one coaches, and I feel fortunate that you’ve been mine. Thank you for all the advice, encouragement, and kindness you’ve shared along the way. It’s been reassuring to know that I’ve had not just a mentor, but also a friend in this journey.
