MPH Concentrations

Concentrations within the Master of Public Health (MPH) program at Tufts University provide students with the opportunity to dive deeper into specific content areas while honing their public health skills through the core MPH curriculum. We offer five distinct concentrations, allowing students to select the concentration that aligns with their chosen MPH option.

While the core MPH program equips students with the foundational knowledge and skills necessary for a well-rounded public health education, our concentrations provide a structured framework for them to deepen their understanding and expertise. This combination of core coursework and concentration-specific studies ensures that students graduate with a comprehensive skill set and specialized knowledge in their chosen area of study. Please note that our Individualized Study concentration follows a generalist approach, where students complete the core curriculum then select their own electives, allowing them to shape their education according to their individual aspirations and interests.

Students pursing an MPH while enrolled in the JD, PA, MD, or DVM dual degree program have concentration requirements designed to integrate their two areas of study. Students in the accelerated MPH choose either Epidemiology-Biostatistics or Health Services Management and Policy as a concentration.
