Students' journeys through the Physician Assistant (PA) program may look a little different, but the unwavering support from faculty and staff is the same. Hear from current student, Sophie Dodd, PA23, about her experience.

Why did you choose to pursue this degree?
"I used to work in fashion, but I wanted to have more of an impact, so I switched to the PA profession. I have never looked back and absolutely love being able to help people take ownership of their health."

What has your experience in the PA program been like so far?
"I have nothing but good things to say about the Tufts PA program. Since the first day, everyone has been so welcoming and accommodating, even throughout the chaos of COVID. It's definitely challenging—but I know every long day and exam is making me a better provider."

What is your favorite aspect about the program?
"The professors genuinely want us to succeed and will do whatever it takes to get us there. There is a real "no one left behind" mentality that extends to the student body and makes the program collaborative, not competitive."

What is your proudest personal accomplishment while at Tufts?
"I am immensely proud of the friendships I have made. Being surrounded by so many bright, passionate, and kind people makes me excited and optimistic about the future of healthcare, and I know the friends I have made at Tufts will be in my life forever."

What do you wish to accomplish upon graduation?
"I would love to work with kids in some capacity, whether that is as a general pediatrician or in something more specialized, like pediatric oncology. It's a heavy subject, but knowing you are doing your part to make the experience even a little better for children and their families makes it worth it."

What do you want a prospective student to know about Tufts?
"You won't find a more engaging, supportive, and comprehensive learning experience than Tufts. I have complete faith that every PA that graduates from this program is well-equipped to provide high-quality care to whatever community they choose to serve."
