A gift from H. Keith Johnson, MD, M63, has created new funded opportunities for students considering a career in medicine. The Tufts Summer Undergraduate Clinical Internship Fund will allow students to acquire clinical experience at Tufts Medical Center; stipends will be annually awarded to two students. For students with financial need, the grants are particularly important, as they allow them to take advantage of potentially career-shaping internships while still earning a summer income. And by empowering students to explore their interests in medicine, undergraduates will have the invaluable practical experience they need to define their best path forward, said Johnson, a nephrology specialist in Nashville.
