Dr. Parent-Nichols' scholarly agenda includes the priorities of integrity, care and compassion, collaboration, shared responsibility, with a consistent focus on both the patient and the student experience. Her areas of research include effective teaching and learning strategies in higher education, supports for graduate student success, effective neonatal resuscitation, use of orthoses in pediatrics, and best practice for return to the classroom following concussion.

Dr. Parent-Nichols is a board-certified specialist in pediatric physical therapy, serving as a Clinical Associate Professor and Director of Student Affairs in the Tufts Doctor of Physical Therapy-Boston Program.
