Research/Areas of Interest:

The Vibrio cholerae quorum sensing system co-ordinates multiple cellular processes such as virulence, metabolism, biofilm formation and natural transformation among others. Recently research has suggested that motility and surface sensing affect quorum sensing. Additional understanding of how motility affects quorum sensing and therefore virulence is required. I will be using traditional genetic approaches to further understand the motility genes involved in quorum sensing.
