Research/Areas of Interest:

Our lab had discovered that a tubular ER protein, Reticulon 4 rearranges to form a unique morphological structure around the Legionella-containing vacuoles in macrophages with the help of an SidE family protein, a molecule encoded by the bacteria. I am interested in identifying the total spectrum of substrates ubiquitinated by the SidE family, as well as finding out the proteins responsible for rearrangements of ER sheet structures in the absence of SidE.These studies may shed light on the mechanisms involved in Legionella pathogenesis.
